Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to apply data-driven problem solving at a GM manufacturing plant. You will liaise between production operations, engineering, and suppliers to drive quality improvements and support launches.

The role emphasizes hands-on measurement interpretation, containment of non-conformances, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Internship starts in 2027 and requires full-time availability in a plant setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or quality engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurements to ensure quality and reliability.
• Contain and resolve non-conforming product and communicate issues daily to Quality Systems Manager.
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment for spills and supplier issues.
• Support PTR process and launch activities for new products.
• Adhere to GMS elements and participate in supplier quality activities.
