Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern to apply data-driven problem solving, interact with production and engineering, and support quality improvements at a GM manufacturing plant. The role emphasizes working with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product quality and launch readiness.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering and plan to graduate between Aug 2027 and Jun 2029.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
• Graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability
• Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product
• Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
• Validate supplier scrap
• Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process on supplier related issues
• Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product / function
• Support launch activities of new products
• Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS
