Job summary

MISO invites undergrad students to join its Power Systems Engineering internship for the summer. You will work across Planning and Operations to support power flow studies, model development, and process automation. Location options include Carmel, IN; Eagan, MN; Little Rock, AR with housing available for qualified students.

Term is June 2 – August 13, 2027, full-time and paid. Coursework in Power Systems is preferred, with opportunities to present outcomes to department leaders and executives

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate in Electrical/Power Engineering or closely related field.
• Proficiency in Python or other coding languages with ability to learn quickly.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
• Familiarity with PSSE, PowerWorld, and TARA for power-flow analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support power flow studies and model development for grid reliability.
• Assist with contingency analyses and automation across Planning and Operations teams.
• Contribute to real-world projects and present findings to leadership.
