MISO invites undergraduates to a 2027 Summer Internship in Power Systems Engineering. You will assist with power flow studies, model development, and process automation across Planning and Operations teams.

The role offers hands‑on experience with PSS®E, TARA, EMS, and SQL/Python, with housing assistance for eligible students in Carmel, IN and other sites. You will review load forecasts, run contingency simulations, and help translate analysis into practical tools and operating guides, gaining

Responsibilities

Assist with power flow studies and contingency analyses across planning & operations teams
Support model development and automation efforts using Python/SQL
Contribute to transmission planning studies and operating guide development
Present findings to department leaders and cross-functional teams
