Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) invites undergraduates to join as a Power Systems Engineering Intern for the summer. You will support power flow studies, model development, and process automation with Planning and Operations teams, gaining hands-on experience with PSS/E, TARA, EMS, and scripting in Python and SQL.

Locations include Carmel, IN; Eagan, MN; Little Rock, AR, with housing available for qualified students.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python (or other coding languages with ability to learn quickly).
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Support power flow studies and model development across Planning and Operations teams.
• Automate planning studies and workflows using Python and SQL.
• Contribute to contingency analysis, transmission planning studies, or reliability coordination tools.
