Job summary

IMEG's Melbourne, FL team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program. You will assist with the analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems in buildings, closely collaborating with experienced engineers and consultants.

This paid internship offers real project work, budgeting support, and cross-functional collaboration with teams serving education, corporate, and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Strong interest in design consulting and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with CAD/BIM tools and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to electrical systems according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment resources.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, client meetings, and instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
