Job summary

IMEG, an employee-owned engineering firm, is offering a Summer 2027 Mechanical Engineering Internship in Ann Arbor, MI. You will work with a team on engineering analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry during a 10-12 week program.

Responsibilities include assisting with design portions, researching equipment, coordinating with disciplines, documenting decisions, and supporting project budgets.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting and collaboration across disciplines.
• Proficient with MS Office and able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to mechanical systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources.
• Coordinate design and schedule activities with other disciplines and suppliers.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress.
• Support project work within the project’s monetary budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
