Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Naperville, IL for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in the analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for the building vertical market while collaborating with experienced engineers on real project work.

This paid internship offers mentorship, structured program with a mentor and intern cohort, and a potential path to full-time roles at IMEG. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• No prior internship required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects according to IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment.
• Support client relations and project documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines.
• Document design decisions and meetings.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct site observations as needed.
