Middlebury College invites applications for a temporary Instructor of French for the summer 2020 session on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. The seven-week program runs June 25 to August 15, 2020, with an immersive environment emphasizing daily instruction and cultural immersion.

The instructor will teach French as a Second Language, participate in a vibrant instructional team, and lead co-curricular activities that complement the language curriculum.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent and substantial experience teaching French as a Second Language in higher education.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence in French as a foreign language.
• Native or near-native fluency in French.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative competencies.
• Proven success as a member of an instructional team.
• Ability to lead co-curricular activities integrated with language curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach French as a Second Language to undergraduate students.
• Lead co-curricular activities that are an integral part of the language curriculum.
• Engage with students during teaching, dining, residence and recreation in French.
