Middlebury College is seeking a temporary Bilingual Assistant in French for the Summer French School program on the Middlebury College campus in Vermont. The position runs during Summer 2022, July 1 through August 19, with lodging and a meal plan provided in addition to salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
• Native or near-native proficiency in French and English (oral and written).
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary in-language contact for students and faculty.
• Engages with students, providing linguistic practice and support outside class.
• Designs and implements team-building exercises for classes or program.
• Supports students' commitment to the Language Pledge and rigorous learning environment.
• Represents the School, Language Schools administration, and Middlebury community.
• Represents the School administration in the dorms and social spaces, evenings and weekends.
• Provides regular tutoring hours for homework, grammar, and pronunciation.
