Job summary

Middlebury College in Vermont seeks temporary Instructors of French for the 2022 summer session. The role is in person on campus, July 1–August 19, with four daily classroom hours and required office hours.

Instructors participate in assessments and cultural programming, living on campus with meals provided. Applicants should hold a master's degree and have substantial college-level teaching experience in French, including native or near-native fluency and ability to work within a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum a master's degree and substantial experience teaching French as a second language in higher education.
• Native or near-native fluency in French.
• Experience in in-person and remote teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead up to four hours of classroom instruction daily.
• Lead co-curricular activities that are part of the language curriculum.
• Participate in pre- and post-session assessment, testing and cultural programming.
• Collaborate with an instructional team in a dynamic on-campus setting.
