Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern in Terre Haute, IN for a 12-week program starting May 2027. The intern will assist engineering staff on projects, learn in a team environment, and gain exposure to electric and gas facilities.

Candidates must be current undergraduates in ABET-accredited programs, able to work 40 hours weekly, and located within 50 miles of Terre Haute. Responsibilities include data collection, AutoCad sketches, field measurements, and contributing to project

Qualifications

Current student in an ABET-accredited four-year engineering program.
Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
Ability to work 40 hours/week.
Proficiency with PC applications; strong skills with AutoCad and MS Excel & Access.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Assist engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
Evaluate, design, estimate, and provide project management for electric and gas facilities.
Create job order sketches using AutoCad.
Perform field measurements.
Assemble data to create job order estimates.
Summer 2027 start date.
Safety consciousness required.
