Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern for a 12-week program based in Valparaiso, IN. The role supports engineering staff on projects, with opportunities to design, estimate, and manage tasks related to electric and gas facilities.

Ideal candidates are ABET-accredited four-year engineering students who have completed at least one year, can work 40 hours/week, and are authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Strong AutoCAD and Excel/Access skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited four-year engineering program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Able to work 40 hrs/week.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
• Collect data and review records; perform field measurements.
• Create job order sketches using AutoCAD.
• Assemble data to create job order estimates.
• Provide project management assistance for electrical and gas facilities.
