Job summary

NiSource is seeking Summer Electric Engineering Interns for a 12-week program in Gary, IN. Interns will learn on the job, work with a team of engineers, and complete meaningful projects within the electric major projects group.

Applicants must be electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology students, have at least one year of undergrad study, and a 3.0+ GPA. In-person, 40-hour weeks, with opportunities to engage in compliance training and real project work.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• GPA 3.0 and above.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Specialists on Electric Major Project teams.
• Help with permits, job orders, materials procurement and invoicing.
• Maintain project files for accuracy and completeness.
• Support planning, estimating, scheduling and risk analysis for electric projects.
• Collaborate with NiSource teams to ensure cost-effective project management.
