Job summary

NiSource Inc. is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern in Terre Haute, IN, for a 12-week program starting May 2027.

You will work under senior engineers, participating in projects to meet utility facility needs and gain hands-on experience in design, estimation and project management for electric and gas facilities. Candidates must be an ABET-accredited four-year engineering student with at least one year of coursework completed, ready to work 40 hours per week, and capable with AutoCAD and MS

Qualifications

• This internship requires a current student in an ABET-accredited four-year engineering program.
• Applicant must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and strong PC skills are required.
• AutoCad and MS Excel/Access proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
• Evaluate, design, estimate and provide project management for electric and gas facilities.
• Create job order sketches using AutoCad and perform field measurements.
• Collect data, review records and assemble data for estimates.
• Demonstrate safety consciousness and willingness to learn.
