Job summary

NiSource Internship Program is seeking a Summer Engineering Intern to join the team in Columbus, OH for a 12-week program beginning May 2027. The intern will work under engineering staff guidance on projects to address utility facility needs, with opportunities to design, estimate, and manage projects across electric and gas facilities.

Qualifications

• Current student in an ABET-accredited four-year engineering program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Proficiency with AutoCad and MS Excel & Access.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs.
• Evaluate, design, estimate, and provide project management of electric and gas facilities.
• Create job order sketches using AutoCad.
• Perform field measurements.
• Assemble data to create job order estimates.
