Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Trainee for Summer 2027 in Fort Collins, CO. You’ll join a hands-on crew learning tree care, pruning, and removal, with a focus on safety and client service in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates love the outdoors and are eager to build experience in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping. This internship is on-site, with opportunities for growth and advancement within a large, employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Interest in arboriculture and field training.
• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or heights preferred.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation on hire.
• Complete First Aid/CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Pesticide licenses preferred where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work safely on a crew.
• Assist in pruning, removal, and canopy maintenance.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment.
• Gain hands-on experience in tree care and client services.
