Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Fort Collins, CO is offering a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship. This paid, temporary full-time role is ideal for college students seeking hands-on field experience in tree care, plant health care, sales and client services.

You’ll start by learning to climb trees, work with a crew, and perform pruning and safety tasks under guidance. Training includes the Davey Tree Orientation Program, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving; relevant licenses are a plus.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or heights work preferred.
• Able to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation on hire.
• Able to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates preferred where state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and join a tree crew, while gaining new skills.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely and effectively for clients.
• Learn pruning guidelines, identify trees, install cables/bracing as needed.
• Assist in hazardous-tree removal and operate tools safely.
