Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern to join our Chicago, IL office for Summer 2027. You will work with the project team to prepare structural designs for buildings, from concept through construction, and gain exposure to field reviews and documentation.

You will develop skills in modeling, calculations, and construction documents while collaborating with engineers on diverse commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

Qualifications

• Current 3rd year undergrad or graduate standing in an accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering program with a focus on structures.
• Completion of steel and concrete design classes preferred; at least one required.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept to construction.
• Perform field review for projects under construction and document existing conditions.
• Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
• Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
