TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for its Chicago, IL office for Summer 2027. You will gain exposure to diverse projects in vertical structures, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as an undergraduate (3rd year) or graduate student in Civil or Architectural Engineering with structures focus.
• Completion of steel and/or concrete design coursework preferred and at least one class required.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel; familiarity with engineering software.
• Familiarity with REVIT Structure beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept through construction.
• Conduct field reviews and document existing conditions on projects under construction.
• Learn to interpret and apply engineering plans and details.
• Support with computer modeling and hand calculations.
