Job summary

TYLin in Chicago is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will gain exposure to diverse projects and be part of a collaborative team applying structural engineering for vertical structures—from new construction to renovations and historic preservation.

Join us to sharpen your skills through hands-on work, field reviews, and interaction with experienced engineers. Experience with REVIT Structure and MS Word/Excel is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Currently a 3rd-year undergraduate or a graduate student in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on structures.
• Completion of steel and/or concrete design coursework is preferred; at least one required.
• Familiarity with common engineering software and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project team in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept through construction.
• Perform field reviews and document existing conditions on site.
• Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
• Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
