Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for the Chicago, IL office for Summer 2027. You will work with the project team to prepare structural designs for buildings, participate in field reviews, and support modeling and calculations.

This internship offers hands-on experience across concepts to construction with a collaborative team. Ideal candidates are in an accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering program, with steel/ concrete design coursework, proficiency in MS Word/Excel, and

Qualifications

Requires current 3rd year standing in an accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering program (structures focus).
Completion of steel and concrete design classes preferred; at least one such class required.
Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software.
Familiarity with REVIT Structure is beneficial.
Co-op/internship experience in commercial, institutional, or residential buildings is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist the project team in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept through construction.
Perform field reviews and document existing conditions.
Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
