Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for the Boston, MA office for the Summer of 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in structural engineering for vertical structures, including new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation.

You will support project teams with design and drawings, conduct field reviews, and engage in modeling and calculations while developing professional skills in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Active pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering with a focus on structures.
• Steel and concrete design coursework completed or in progress.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; familiarity with engineering software.
• REVIT Structure familiarity is a plus.
• Co-op/internship experience in commercial, institutional, or residential buildings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept to construction.
• Perform field reviews and document existing conditions on site.
• Familiarize with engineering plans and details.
• Assist with computer modeling and hand calculations.
