Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Buildings Engineering Intern for our Chicago, IL office for Summer 2027. You will engage in diverse projects, supporting our structural design of buildings—from concept to construction—and gain hands-on experience across commercial, institutional and residential types.

You will work with a project team, perform field reviews, and learn REVIT Structure while contributing to design calculations and documentation. This internship offers growth within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate program in civil/architectural eng with structures focus.
• Completion of steel and concrete design courses preferred.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural design and drawings for buildings from concept through construction.
• Perform field reviews and document existing conditions on projects.
• Familiarize with engineering plans and details.
• Support computer modeling and hand calculations.
