Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee for a Summer 2027 internship in Denver, CO. This on-site, full-time temporary role offers hands-on field experience in tree care, pruning, removal, and client services, with a starting pay of $22.00 per hour.

Ideal for college students seeking summer work and career development in forestry and horticulture. Training opportunities include the Davey Tree Orientation, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving requirements.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Learn all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
