Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Wilmington, NC is seeking a SUE Technician III to join our Utilities/Energy team. You will apply electromagnetic and geophysical methods to designate existing utilities, read records, and coordinate survey work on a range of projects.

This role requires at least five years of utility location experience, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, occasional travel, and a focus on safety. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in utility designating/locating
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
• Excellent reading and communication skills
• Enjoy outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Occasional travel and overtime may be required
• Ability to walk long distances daily
• Lifting up to 80 lbs; maintain a clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Work with a team on diverse projects
• Read utility records, as-built drawings and highway plans
• Designate utilities using EM and geophysical tech
• Operate vacuum excavation truck and expose utilities
• Maintain traffic control measures
• Submit One-Call tickets
• Coordinate survey work with SUE
• Supervise field crew activities
• Train junior crew members
• Represent Colliers in the field coordinating with utility companies
