Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) professional in Charlotte, NC to support a range of projects. The role involves identifying utility conflicts using electromagnetic and geophysical methods, coordinating survey work, and supervising field crews in diverse outdoor environments.

This position requires experience with vacuum excavation and the ability to travel as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy in utility designation tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
• Preference for vacuum excavation experience.
• Ability to grasp new technologies quickly.
• Good reading and communication skills.
• Willing to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Occasional travel and overtime may be required.
• Ability to walk long distances.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Clean driving record and safety focus.
• Must read/write English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to tackle diverse projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings.
• Designate utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical methods.
• Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck and expose utilities.
• Apply appropriate maintenance of traffic measures.
• Call One-Call tickets.
• Coordinate survey work with SUE activities.
• Supervise field crew activities.
