Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a SUE Technician III to join our SUE Services team in New England. This role involves designating utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies, coordinating survey work, and supervising field crews in a dynamic, outdoor environment.

Compensation ranges per hour with potential overtime and travel. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience with EM/geophysical methods, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience using electromagnetic and geophysical designation technologies.
• Experience with vacuum excavation preferred.
• Must be able to travel occasionally and work overtime.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to tackle a variety of projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as‑builts and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads on project needs.
• Operate a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes.
• Maintain traffic safety measures and call “One-Call” tickets.
• Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE and supervise field crew.
• Train junior crew members and represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field.
