Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a SUE Technician based in our Wilmington, NC office to support subsurface utility engineering projects. The role involves reading utility records, performing designations with electromagnetic and geophysical tools, and assisting with vac excavation operations in a team environment.

The position requires outdoor work in diverse weather, ability to travel occasionally, and lifting up to 80 lbs. Safety and accuracy are essential in all tasks.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.
• Enjoys working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a wide variety of projects as part of a design team.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Operate a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities.
• Utilize maintenance of traffic practices as required.
