Job summary

McKim & Creed seeks an entry level SUE Technician I to assist in locating underground utilities and marking them with paint and flags. You will learn to use maps, records, and field equipment to produce accurate sketches for client use.

Ideal candidates are ready to travel daily, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in diverse terrains. Training is provided, with strong emphasis on safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to walk outdoors for long periods in various terrains and weather.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and operate equipment as needed.
• Willingness to travel daily; occasional overnight travel.
• Background checks and pre-employment drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utility lines using maps and records.
• Operate field equipment like GPR, EM designation tools, cameras, probes.
• Maintain accurate records of utility locations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards.
• Assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
