Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a SUE Technician based in our San Antonio & Dallas, TX offices. You will support subsurface utility engineering by locating utilities with electromagnetic and geophysical methods, and by operating a vacuum excavation truck to expose utilities.

This role requires the ability to read and interpret records and plans, strong communication skills, and comfort working outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0-2 years of experience using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
• Must quickly grasp new technologies.
• Strong reading comprehension and communication skills.
• Enjoy outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Occasional travel out of town and overtime may be required.
• Able to walk long distances daily and lift heavy equipment up to 80 lbs.
• Must prioritize safety of self and others.
• Able to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team on a variety of projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-builts, and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using EM and geophysical tools.
• Operate a vacuum excavation truck and expose utilities via test holes.
• Use appropriate maintenance of traffic measures.
