Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a SUE Technician based in our San Antonio & Dallas, TX offices. The role supports subsurface utility engineering through locating utilities with EM and geophysical methods, and requires working outdoors in varying weather with occasional travel.

The team emphasizes safety, precise data collection, and collaboration across projects in renewable energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in EM and geophysical designating technologies.
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
• Good reading, writing and communication in English.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to travel out of town and work overtime.
• Walk long distances daily.
• Lift up to 80 lbs.
• Safety first in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team on a wide variety of projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Operate a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities.
• Utilize appropriate maintenance of traffic.
