Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a SUE Technician based in our Wilmington, NC office. The role centers on subsurface utility engineering, using electromagnetic and geophysical methods to identify utility conflicts for infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include reading utility records, operating vacuum excavation equipment, and supporting a range of projects from feasibility studies to construction management, with travel and OT as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0-2 years of experience with electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
• Must grasp new technologies quickly.
• Strong reading and written communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team on a variety of projects.
• Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans.
• Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies.
• Operate a vacuum excavation truck and perform test holes to expose utilities.
• Utilize maintenance of traffic procedures as appropriate.
