Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking substitutes to supervise and support students across classrooms, playgrounds, or cafeterias. You’ll help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow lesson plans provided by teachers.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or college credits, have three professional references, and can pass state and federal background checks. Pay is hourly to begin, with daily pay ranging from $150 to $221 depending on assignment and

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings.

Daily Pay Range:

$150 – $221. Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or college credits
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State & federal background checks

You’ll Stand Out If You:

• Passion for education and putting students first

• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher
• Communicate clearly with school staff
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher
• Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, incl. indoor and outdoor settings
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
