Job summary

The Annandale YMCA in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to bring energy and structure to active youth programs. You’ll support lead teachers, supervise classrooms, and help deliver engaging activities in a safe, inclusive environment.

You must be 18+, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have experience with children, and pass required background checks. We offer flexible hours, a Free YMCA membership, and discounts on camps as part of a values-driven, community-focused

• Prior experience working with children (professional, volunteer, or familial)
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances

Responsibilities

• Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
• Leading age appropriate activities
• Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
• Assistant classroom teacher to cover when someone is out on PTO
