Sylvania is seeking reliable Substitute Bus Drivers for our Bus Garage. The role focuses on safe, efficient transportation of students on an as-needed basis, requiring flexibility, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and service.

Responsibilities include operating buses, ensuring student safety, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining records. Candidates must hold a CDL with bus endorsements, have a clean driving record, and pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL with appropriate bus endorsements.
• Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus following routes and schedules.
• Transport students to and from designated locations.
• Ensure student safety during transportation; assist with boarding and disembarking.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate mileage, fuel usage, and incident records.
• Communicate changes to routes or schedules with school personnel.
• Respond to emergencies with professionalism and care.
• Attend training sessions on safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist with keeping the bus garage and vehicles clean and organized.
