Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a reliable Substitute Bus Driver to support our Bus Barn operations. You will operate school buses and other transportation vehicles, ensuring safe transport for students and passengers while maintaining a clean vehicle and following schedules.

Training for CDL Class B endorsements will be provided as needed. The role requires a clean driving record, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle emergencies calmly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and transportation vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Transport students and passengers to designated locations on schedule.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a clean, organized bus interior and exterior.
• Communicate schedule changes with students, parents, and staff.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report incidents promptly.
• Fill in for regular drivers on short notice, including mornings, afternoons, and events.
