Sylvania is seeking a dedicated Substitute School Bus Driver to join our transportation team. You will transport students to and from school and activities, while maintaining a safe and orderly bus environment.

The role requires a CDL with school bus endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Flexibility for early mornings and afternoons, and adherence to safety protocols, are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDL with a school bus endorsement is mandatory.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school, activities, and events.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain a clean, orderly bus interior for student comfort.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety rules on the bus.
• Communicate transport schedules and issues with students, parents, and staff.
• Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Attend required trainings and meetings as scheduled.
• Follow traffic laws, district policies, and safety regulations.
• Assist students with disabilities or special needs as required.
