Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Substitute Instructor to support the Job Corps program in Monroe, VA. You will present instruction in a designated subject area, maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure student engagement and discipline to foster learning.

The position offers up to 29 hours per week at $20.00 per hour. A high school diploma is required; teaching certification is preferred, and you must pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Teaching certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Pass a drug screen as per policy.
• Employment contingent on nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Substitute Instructor performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
• Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
• The Substitute Instructor maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
• Maintains student personnel folders; records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Teaching certification preferred.
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
