Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Washington, DC is seeking an Academic Teacher to instruct in a regular classroom, presenting Math instructions and promoting a positive, motivating atmosphere. You will maintain classroom discipline, utilize available curriculum resources, and keep attendance records.

You’ll foster student-instructor rapport and forward daily attendance to Student Records. Qualifications include DC teaching certification, willingness to teach Math (TABE), a valid driver’s license preferred,

Qualifications

  • Certified to teach in Washington D.C.
  • Willing to teach the subject of Math [TABE]
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

  • The Academic Teacher performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
  • The Academic Teacher promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
  • Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning; establishes student/instructor rapport.
  • Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
  • Maintains student personnel folders; records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000
