Job summary

Denison Job Corps Center is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join Eckerd Connects. You will deliver instruction in designated subject areas, maintain discipline, and support student motivation in a regular classroom setting.

The role is on-call up to 29 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00. Applicants should have an Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours, a substitute authorization, and be willing to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours with approved substitute authorization course.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

• The Substitute Instructor performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
• Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
• The Substitute Instructor maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
• Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

• Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours and the completion of an approved substitute authorization course. Completed application to the Iowa's Board of Educational Examiners.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
