Job summary

Washtenaw Community College is seeking a Substitute Campus Service Worker in Facilities to support mail, inventory, and operations on campus. The role requires handling mail, load/unload, and using AI-supported tools to improve workflows while maintaining confidentiality.

The position emphasizes safety, asset tracking, and collaboration with campus staff. Regular on-site presence is required, with opportunities to support events and campus operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalence is required.
• Two years full-time related work experience, or 36 college credits plus one year related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of FAMIS and SCT–Banner is preferred.
• Ability to operate mechanical/hydraulic lift trucks and obtain required certifications.
• Acquire/maintain a government chauffeur license within two weeks of start.
• Ability to read/write English and follow basic instructions.
• Physically able to lift 60 pounds and move between buildings.
• Able to interact positively with clients, coworkers and management.
• Familiar with AI-supported tools and maintain confidentiality when using AI.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, transport, deliver, and pickup college mail and equipment.
• Process all inbound/outbound mail and materials.
• Maintain inventory systems and asset tagging processes.
• Support college events and on-site programs.
• Use AI tools to support work functions while ensuring confidentiality.
