Job summary

Washtenaw Community College seeks a Substitute Campus Service Worker to handle mail operations, inventory and facilities support. You will assist with loading and delivering items, maintaining records with FAMIS, and supporting campus events.

A valid driver’s license and lifting capability are required. The role emphasizes adherence to college policies, safety regulations, and the use of AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years full-time related work experience or 36 college credit hours plus one year related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with FAMIS/SCT-Banner.
• Ability to operate lift trucks and other motorized vehicles with required certifications.
• Must obtain a government-issued Chauffeur Driver’s License within two weeks of start.
• Read/write English and follow basic operating instructions.
• Physically capable of lifting 60 pounds and traversing multiple buildings.
• Ability to interact positively with clients, coworkers and management.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, transport, deliver and pickup college mail, parcels, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Process inbound/outbound mail, goods, and furnishings.
• Maintain inventory systems and asset tagging throughout the department.
• Maintain records using departmental software (FAMIS).
• Ensure supplies and postage funds are stocked for department needs.
• Identify and dispose of universal waste per guidelines.
• Support on-site college events and programs.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to support work tasks and ensure data confidentiality.
