Job summary

AEP is seeking qualified Station Servicer personnel to support energized and de-energized generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. You will inspect, maintain, and repair substation equipment, participate in switching, and coordinate emergency responses to restore service promptly.

The role requires an associate degree in electrical/maintenance tech or equivalent experience, plus progression through station classifications and CDL readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance technology or equivalent education/experience.
• Equivalent military or civilian training may apply.
• Experience advancing in station servicer classifications or as a station electrician.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair substation facilities and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations per procedures.
• Respond to emergency calls and coordinate restoration of service.
• Work on energized equipment within established safety and supervision requirements.
• Assist with inspection and repair of transformers, circuit breakers, and related equipment.
