American Electric Power seeks a Station Electrician to participate in construction, maintenance, rebuild, and testing of energized or de-energized generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. The candidate must live or relocate to the designated area within a 45‑minute report time to the John W.

Qualificações

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL
• Working knowledge of electrical principles and station equipment
• Ability to read drawings, instruction manuals, and one-line diagrams
• Willingness to travel and work overtime
• Must pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

Responsabilidades

• Inspect, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair substation facilities and equipment
• Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations
• Respond to emergency calls and coordinate rapid restoration of service
• Work on energized equipment within safety and procedure guidelines
• Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of transformers, breakers, and related equipment
• Install and maintain station systems and related infrastructure
• Use testing equipment (voltmeters, meggers, etc.) to perform required tests
• Record readings and report conditions requiring maintenance
• Perform switching activities for transmission and distribution work
• Follow company procedures to support NERC compliance and safe operation
