Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read drawings/instruction manuals/one-line diagrams.
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License or obtain within probationary period.
• Must complete required training to advance classifications and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair substation facilities and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine and emergency switching operations at substations.
• Respond to emergency calls and coordinate quick restoration of service.
• Work on energized equipment within voltage limits and supervision levels.
• Assist with inspection, maintenance, disassembly, and repair of transformers, breakers, substations, and rotating machinery.
• Install and maintain conduit, cable, batteries, lighting, and control equipment.
• Use testing equipment to inspect, record readings, and report abnormal conditions.
• Perform switching for transmission and distribution line construction and maintenance.
