Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Substation Technician II to assist and lead lower level technicians in substation construction and maintenance. The role requires advanced technical and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and lead medium to large construction and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include safely leading small jobs, organizing work plans, reading prints, isolating protection circuits, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School/GED degree.
• Three years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a complete understanding of company safety rules and work practices.
• Exhibits the capacity to safely lead small jobs and work independently of direct leadership.
• Complete understanding of the processes needed to organize construction and maintenance work and create overall implementation/maintenance plans.
• Total understanding of reading prints and determine how to isolate protection circuits without jeopardizing critical equipment.
• Ability to respond to call outs and lead complex maintenance or construction projects.
