Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Substation Technician II in North Carolina to support substation construction and maintenance with advanced technical and leadership responsibilities.

You will lead medium to large projects, ensure safety, read prints, and coordinate with internal teams to maintain reliable power systems. Onsite work with after-hours callouts and strict regulatory compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years related work experience preferred.
• Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate full understanding of company safety rules and work practices.
• Lead small jobs and work independently.
• Organize construction and maintenance work and create implementation/maintenance plans.
• Read prints and determine how to isolate protection circuits safely.
• Respond to call outs and support after-hours work.
• Lead complex maintenance or construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (NERC/SERC) and document results.
