Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Structural Engineer to join our Power & Energy Civil Structural Substation Team. You will contribute to design, analysis, and documentation for electrical substation projects, collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver compliant, buildable solutions.

The role requires 3–5 years of post‑education experience, EIT certification, and proficiency with structural codes and FE analysis tools. On-site work and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred for senior roles.
• Engineer in Training Certification required or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of post-education structural engineering experience, including substation design.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural engineering work for electrical substation projects.
• Prepare structural calculations and design criteria.
• Develop construction specifications and cost estimates.
• Produce and review structural drawings and fabrication-ready documentation.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, geotechnical, and construction teams.
