Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Intermediate Substation Structural Engineer to join our Power Delivery Substation Civil/Structural Group. The role supports planning, analysis, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substations across multiple U.S. locations, including New York, Syracuse, and beyond.

You will work with engineers and project managers to collect data, perform design work, and produce reports, drawings, and calculations, while adhering to safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 1–3 years of post-education experience.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for electrical substations.
• Collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and maps.
• Prepare technical reports, sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations.
• Assist with risk identification, design concepts, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and project managers.
• Adhere to WSP policies and safety requirements.
